Comptroller of Maryland Brooke Lierman, elected last year as Maryland’s first female Comptroller, visited St. Mary’s County on Monday, meeting with the Commissioners during her trip.
Signs For the Unhoused
New signs have been installed along FDR Blvd stating “It’s OK to say NO to panhandlers. Give to many, not just one. Scan and support local nonprofits.”

“See You At The Library,” says Board of Education member Dorothy Andrews. On her Facebook page, Andrews advertises an August 5th event at the Lexington Park Library where she will read a book from Brave Books. A conservative Christian children’s book publisher, the company counters progressive culture and media with “traditional American values.”

Lancaster Park For Lease

Editorial: Bud Light Has Been Canceled
Bud Light has been canceled. At one time, residents of St. Mary’s proudly shared the history of the ten ounce Bud Light. Now, so many people are angry over a Bud Light promotion they’ve stopped drinking the beer. The situation has risen to the level of harming a local business. I’ve seen a few establishments advertising specials on beer, specifically mentioning the intention of helping Guy Distributing.
HP Chromebook Grant
The Commissioners approved the acceptance of a grant award from the Maryland Department of Housing and Community Development’s Office of Statewide Broadband on April 4th.
